At Interior Door Replacement Company, our foremost concern is that our customers receive a quality product that they can trust in. We understand that our reputation is at stake with every door that we install. In the case of exterior doors, there are more factors involved that are outside of our control. Direct and indirect sunlight, humidity, heat, cold, temperature change, mold, and insects are all considerations that potentially affect the durability and longevity of exterior doors.
With our 20 years of experience installing exterior doors in the Bay Area, we understand how these external factors can affect the doors that we install. For that reason we know the importance of selecting only the best and most durable product for our customers’ exterior door needs. In light of these considerations, we at Interior Door Replacement Company have made the landmark decision to standardize all future exterior door sales on the Lemieux Torrefied Collection exterior doors.
We have been offering and installing Lemieux Torrefied Collection doors for several years and have found that they provide outstanding quality and durability regardless of the environment in which they are installed. We have yet to receive a single complaint or issue with these doors, and in the past have wished that all of our exterior door customers had purchased Lemieux Torrefied Collection doors. With this decision, that wish will become reality for all future customers purchasing exterior doors from us.
Why have we decided to forsake exterior doors from other manufacturers in favor of Lemieux’s Torrefied Collection doors? In the first place, the Torrefied Collection doors are made from solid wood construction, which is very rare in today’s age. By contrast, most exterior doors–including those made by virtually all name-brand door suppliers–are made from glued-together veneers and laminates imported from manufacturers located overseas.
But another significant difference is the Torrefication process used on the doors. Torrefication is an all-natural green process whereby wood is heated over time in order to eliminate its tendency to rot. It also makes wood far more structurally stable, and highly resistant to heat, cold, and moisture. Assembled in North America, every Torrefied exterior wood door carries a 20-year guarantee against warping, twisting, rotting or de-lamination. The length and extent of this warranty is unprecedented in the exterior door industry, demonstrating how Lemieux stands firmly behind the stabilty and longevity of their Torrefied product.
The following images are of cross-section cut-aways of various doors. Customers visiting our Mountain View showroom can inspect these cut-aways. The first image is a cut-away of a Lemieux Torrefied Collection Exterior Door. You can see that it is made with solid wood, with no veneers or laminates. One can also see that the Torrefication treatment affects the entire cross-section of the solid wood construction of the door. Regardless of what happens over time to the wood surface, the door can always be refinished and/or repainted to achieve its original new condition.
In contrast, the second cut-away is of a typical exterior door sold by a name-brand door supplier. Looking closely at the image, you can notice the thin veneers and laminates used in construction.
